Journey… Sunday School like you’ve never seen it before!
Sundays 8:00 and 11:00
Gone are the days of sitting still for an hour and doing worksheets! We believe that the Bible is the best story ever told and we should have fun learning about it!

Each child is placed on a Journey team with an adult who is their shepherd. This shepherd builds relationships with the kids and is with them every week. As they focus on the same Bible story for a month, teams go to a different “workshop” each week. They will explore the Bible story through either art, drama, games, cooking, or computers each week! Our focus is on helping kids apply God’s truth to their everyday lives. Journey keeps the kids moving and actively exploring God’s truth.

Celebration
Sundays 9:30
It is the desire of Westwood that every child have a meaningful worship experience this week. Some families choose to worship together in adult worship which is great. Some kids need something a little more on their level. Celebration is a kid-friendly worship service. Kids praise God through exciting and meaningful songs. They also experience age-appropriate messages that they can apply to their lives.

AWANA
Wednesdays, 6:15
The goal of the Awana clubs is “to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.” Throughout an Awana night, kids will work in handbook time on learning verses, will play wild and crazy games, and will sing and learn in large group council time. Kids earn awards based on their work in their handbooks, but the greatest reward comes in hiding God’s Word in their hearts!

Special Touch
We believe that God loves all kids, so we have a place for every child at Westwood. Our Special Touch ministry is designed to share Jesus with kids with special needs and their families.  We have buddies who partner with kids to participate in activities and we also have our Sunshine Class which is designed for kids who need a special place during Sunday mornings.

Step 1 for Kids
Research shows that most Christians accept Christ before the age of 12. It is important to Westwood that every child fully understands their decision to commit their life to Christ. Step 1 for Kids is a two-week class offered on Sunday nights periodically throughout the year. This class is designed for kids who are new Christians or who are beginning to ask questions. Subjects covered include: what it means to be a Christian, church membership, baptism, the Lord's Supper, and how to grow in Christ.
