For most of His earthly ministry, Jesus hung out with a group of 12 guys. While tremendous and incredible things happened when larger numbers gathered, such as the feeding of the 5000 (Mt 14:13-21), much of His most powerful and profound teaching came to the smaller group of disciples.
Here at Westwood, we strongly value the ministry of small groups. While we love the larger church gatherings on Sundays and at events, we realize that a crowd of people is not the best place to build strong relationships. Because of this, we strongly encourage people to join a small group, where the reduced numbers and quieter settings allow for incredible godly relationships to grow. Groups typically meet each week, and include such activities as worship, Bible study, prayer ministry, and social events, just to name a few.
