Small-Groups

The Small Group Ministry is an umbrella term for both the Adult Bible Study Ministry and the Foundations Home Group Ministry. In both settings the goal of our small groups is to provide a setting where every group member:
• knows every other member more than just by name
• grows together in their walks with Christ
• studies the Bible together weekly
•  prays specifically for others in the group
• feels the freedom to ask questions and share prayer requests
• works together with other group members in ministry

Adult Bible Study (ABS)
Sunday mornings at 8:15, 9:30, & 11:00 AM

This is our Sunday morning, on-campus, classes for adults similar to what you might have known as Sunday School. These classes focus on the teaching of word, prayer, outreach, and fellowship. This is a place where relationships are built and where ministry to one another takes place. Our church strategy is to form even smaller groups from ABS, known as E-Groups (more below). These classes either do a topical study or through the Bible at book at a time approach, usually using the two Lifeway curriculum lines.

Home Groups
Our Foundations Home Group Ministry began with 40 Days of Purpose in the spring of 2004. The purpose of Home Groups is similar to that of our on-campus Adult Bible Study Classes, yet these groups meet at night, have more time for food and fellowship, followed by Bible study, discussion, and prayer. Child care arrangements are determined by each individual and reimbursement vouchers for child care are provided by the church.

E-Groups
These groups are designed for people who want the home group experience, but are still involved in a Sunday morning ABS Class. E-Groups meet at least once each month, some even meet weekly for study, prayer and fellowship. The name comes from a number of words that describe them: Extra is one word, because these groups are formed from existing ABS Classes.  Three other words that fit are encounter, encourage, and equip. These small groups encounter one another and God at a deeper level, encourage one another (Heb. 10:24-25) and help equip group members an effective life in Christ. The curriculum will be based on a church-wide emphasis.
